ALBERGUE A NAVE
Albergue A Nave was inaugurated on May 2016. The number of pilgrims walking the Primitive Way increases year after year, and some more lodging infrastructure was beginning to be needed in the stage from Lugo. The public albergue in San Román de Retorta was way too small with its twelve beds, and the one in As Seixas, 33 kilometers from Lugo, is too far for many pilgrims for a single walking day. Ferreira is ideally situated as the end of the stage starting in Lugo, but the number of available beds in Albergue Ponte Ferreira were not enough during the Summer months.
That’s how we came up with the idea of restoring an old chicken farm that existed in Ferreira, right on the Camino, into a modern albergue offering bunk beds in dormitories as well as triple and double or individual rooms: 40 beds in total. It offers a large communal area with a living room with games, cards, books and magazines as well as a dining room with capacity for over 36 people, a bar, a terrace and a beautiful garden with grass and chestnut trees. It also offers free wifi in all of the premises, and just as in Albergue Ponte Ferreira, you have the chance of having something for lunch, taking part in the communal dinner in the evening, and enjoying our great early breakfast in the morning. All of this at a perfect location right on the Primitive Way.
